Kenny Talamas: Proprietor/Glass Artist
Kenny Talamas has been a lampworker (glass torch artist) for eight years. He is originally from Sarasota, Florida where he painted murals with his family for ten years. He later apprenticed with sculptor Frank Colson, who had a profound influence on his technique and attention to detail. There he learned hand-building ceramic techniques, bronze casting and developed a passion for the "fire arts". After taking a workshop with glass artist Susan Gott in Tampa, FL., Kenny was hooked! He has studied lampworking with glass artist Robert Mickelsen at The Penland School of Crafts. He has also studied hot glass sculpture with glass artist Mark Petrovic at Penland and with Colby Wise. Kenny relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest in 2002, and currently works with glass artist Erinn Holmes, jewelry designer Allison Byrd, and the dichroic encasement team.
